Rebates that have closed, but are still being advertised

These 5 programs are shut to new applicants. They still appear as available on contractor pages, in older guides, and in AI answers trained before they ended. If a quote assumes one of these, the quote is wrong.

Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA)

Closed. July 31, 2026 was the last day to apply. Homeowners who applied before that date have until January 31, 2027 to upload documents, and all work must be completed and paid for before that deadline. Many pages published earlier in 2026 still present this as open.

Why we keep publishing dead programs

Most sites quietly delete a program when it ends, which is exactly why the myths persist: there's nothing left to correct the record. Keeping them listed and clearly marked closed is the only way someone searching the old program name finds out it's over. The full dataset, including closed entries, is open at rebatestack.ca/data.json.
