Is the Home Renovation Savings Program still available?

Status as of 2026-08-23
Open, but sources disagree

Delivered by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas with Ontario government support. Paid per ton of installed capacity. A heat pump counts as a single upgrade, so no full home energy assessment is required for it alone.

Before you install

This is how people lose the rebateA participating contractor and written pre-approval are mandatory BEFORE installation. Installing first is the most common way people lose this rebate. Replacing an existing heat pump is not eligible for the air-source incentive. Gas-heated homes need an active Enbridge residential account; other homes must be connected to Ontario's electricity grid.

Where sources disagree

Sources conflictAn earlier program page showed a November 30, 2026 end date. A review of the official pages on July 29, 2026 found that deadline no longer stated. Treat the end date as unconfirmed and check before ordering equipment.

Why this page has a date on it

Rebate programs change on budget cycles and the pages that rank for them mostly don't. No figure here appears without the date it was last checked against the administering body's own page. Where official and secondary sources disagree, both readings are shown rather than quietly resolved. Closed programs stay published and marked closed, because burying them is how the myths spread.
